Introducint our 2010 Fall and Halloween Lineup

Our new line up is sure to please all who love Halloween and Fall. It is one of our favorite times of the year and such a fun season to celebrate. Thank you all for following us this week, as we have been giving sneak peeks of today's releases. Our new line up is now available in our store front - under the new stamps section.

Now for the eye candy! We hope you enjoy!

I LOVE dandelions in the Fall. They're so delicate and it was a pleasure to illustrate. One of my favorite color combinations is black, cream and tan. I stamped and embossed the Leaf Flourish in black onto tan card stock, twice for a mirrored image. Next I stamped the Dandelion Bunch onto cream card stock. I edged panel with Forest Moss distress ink. I then layered onto black card stock and trimmed very closely around the top and sides, but left an inch and a half at the bottom. I pulled out my favorite Martha Stewart punch and gave the bottom edge a beautiful lattice work edge. Next, I stamped the phrase, edged it with Forest Moss ink again for a bit of color and mounted onto tan and then black card stock. Layer all together as shown. The final card size when finished is - 4.5 by 6.5".
These next two cards we think are pretty fabulous. Halloween is one of Mary's favorite holidays. She kept is so simple and did a bang up job with these tow Halloween cards. I LOVE the contrasting colors, so rich and vibrant.
Here is another beautiful card from Mary.
Tesa focused on Fall for this stunning card. For full instructions and a close up, visit her blog here.
Jennifer had fun with this card! We can tell. I love how she used the Polka Dot Bats as embellishments for her card. It lends the perfect touch.
Back to Fall again! This card was super fast and easy to do! First, I stamped our Solid Leaf ATC onto cream card stock, with brown and burgandy pigment inks. I then embossed with clear embossing powder. Next, onto a tefflon sheet, I smeared Tea Stain distress ink onto my surface. I then spritzed with water to get it to bleed out onto the surface. I then dipped and smeared my paper around onto the watered down ink. It bleeds out as it dries and you get a pretty distressed look. Once dry, I punched out with scalloped punch (2"). I then punched a 2.5" scalloped circle with olive cards stock. I edge with Forest Moss distress in to add a bit of pop to the card stock. I then stamped Autumn is a Second Spring with the Forest Moss ink. I colored the edges with ink for a bit of color and mounted onto black card stock. The paper ribbon was made with my Martha Stewart punch, and I stamped the leaf pattern and embossed with gold. I layered all up onto a rustic patterned paper and finished with a couple of Prema Flowers. So easy to do! Final card size is 4.5" by 4.5"

Leslie did a beautiful job with this little jem, and incorporated the hot air balloon from our clear stamps set. She used the matching hot air balloon die from Prickley Pear RS as well to get the perfect cut! Nice job Leslie. Love the golden hues.

Thanks so much for following along for this release! All images are available through our new stamps section on the web store! We will announce 4 lucky winner who played along and left comments as we were posting the sneak-peeks!

Be sure to keep an eye on us. We have 4 incredible new clear stamp sets and matching dies that we will be unveiling September 5th! They are FABULOUS! And perfect for the holidays! 1 lucky blog follower will win a set each day as we release the new sets!

Trash-to-Treasure

Turning Your Trash Into Treasures
by
Tracy Vinson
Today I am going to show you a beautiful gift that you can create in just a matter of minutes with something you would have THROWN AWAY in the first place!!!  I have already made up several of these to have on hand for the holidays.  This would be so perfect to take along to your hostess at a party, to give to your co-workers, or kids teacher.  So, let's get started.

1.  Choose your stamp.  Today I am using the Ornamental Wreath that can be found in our STORE.  It is the perfect size for my project.
2.  Next you are going to need one of these: this container is made of paper and what better way to recycle.

3.  You will need two sheets of 8.5 x 11 KRAFT card stock for this project and a round die.  Fold your card stock and position the die as shown.

Cut four of these in your die cut machine.  You will end up with something that looks like this.

4.  Now you are going to need a white pigment ink pad...go ahead and ink up your stamp.  Stamp four of these on the cards you just cut and a fifth one to cut out for the top of the box.

5.  Once your ink is dry on these babies, embellish them with really simple items.  I have used a bit of sheer ribbon and some baby seed pearls.

6.  Now we are ready to move on to our box to hold these sweet little cards.  Cover the bottom half of your box in a matching ribbon and cut a circle a glue over the bottom...this hides your mechanics.
See how those cards fit perfectly inside of here?

Last but not least, we have our top.  I have gone a bit fancy on mine but here is the final project.

I've used some simple die cuts that fit the center of the box.  Remember the extra wreath I asked you to stamp?  Well, I have glittered that with PKGlitz glitters and added to the center of the box.

I've added a bit of braided trim around the edges to once again hide where I removed the cheese labels.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial today on recycling your household items and turning your trash into treasures.  Head over to the store and pick up this STAMP.  You will not find another that fits these boxes as perfectly as it does.

Be sure to stop by next Wednesday...I have some Halloween Treats that you are NOT going to want to miss!!!

Vintage Bird Cage

Here is another fabulous project from Tracy featuring our Clearly Beautiful Birdcage Stamp Set and matching die along with PKGlitz Glitter.

I want to share a card with you I made using the Birdcage stamp set and matching die from the Prickley Pear.
Now, I have never been one to use glitter.  However, PKGlitz sent the PPRS team some sample glitters to work with and I have fallen in love with them.  Now...I am using them on everything.  Using them is one thing...photographing them to show there sparkle in another!!!

COPIC Marker Tutorial

How To Use Your Copic Markers
By

Hello, and welcome to the first of many tutorials on how to use your COPIC Markers.  First let me say that COPIC markers are unlike any other because they are alcohol based...not water based.  Therefore, the blending of your colors is much easier.

Today, I will be featuring one of our new stamp sets and matching die, the Hibiscus

So...grab your markers and here we go!

1.  Alright, choose your stamp and paper.  I only use Memento inks with my COPIC markers.  They are the only ink pad that does not fade off on to the tips of the markers.

2.  Second, to create the look I am doing today, you will need to stamp your flower three times with the black ink.

3.  Next, you need to choose a light, a medium, and a dark in  your color pallette you would like to use.  In this case I am using the pink tones...I threw in a yellow for good measure, just because I like the way it looks with the flowers.

4.  OK...when working with your COPIC markers, you want to start with your darkest color first.  This is the exact opposite for "trained" artists.  We are always taught to work from light to dark...not the case with your COPICS.

5.  I am going to lay in my yellow highlights next just so I know where to work around them.  I don't want to color in too much dark and not leave myself enough room for highlights.

6.  Now, take your MEDIUM shade of ink and start filling in like I have done in the photo.

7.  Go to the lightest shade of ink that you have selected and color over the ENTIRE flower, including the yellow.  This will start blending all of those colors together.

8.  Do this three times so that you will have three flowers colored in the same shades of ink.  As you can see, I have cut mine out with the matching die, and antiqued the edges a bit with our Ranger Distress Inks.

9.  Assemble the flower to your preference.  I have curled the edges of my flower petals and placed a dimensional glue dot between each layer--I don't like my petals to sit flat against each other.  I've also added some buds to the center of my flower.

10.  Now, I have a lovely flower that I have used to embellish my card with.  All made from paper, mind you.
